About Me

Hey! Thanks for trying to get to know me better. My name is Skye. I have a killer combination of IT experience, customer service experience, and a cliche passion for tinkering with technology.

I've been programming for about 13 years, ever since I picked up a hefty tome called Java for Dummies, which predated the essential Java 8 features we all know and love today. Since then, I've experimented with many other ecosystems of programming languages, and delved into other domains: security, networking, machine learning, and automation. At the core of my interests is how computers work and how we can craft programs to make computers do amazing things. And since the invention of backpropagation, write programs that program themselves to meet some goal.

I spend most of my time scratching that monkey-brained itch called novelty. Peeling away the curtains of my ignorance to see the internal components of a system glide across the stage in their meticulously choreographed routines. Each algorithm hitting its mark predictably and precisely.

As we sit here on the boundary between the information age and the AI age, it's painfully obvious what technological ignorance has been compounding since the advent of the Internet. Trying to have conversations about AI or Big Tech reveals how far in the past some people are stuck, and as a result, how easily brainwashed they are by the AI hype. They don't know that the term Artifical Intelligence is a term made up for marketing purposes and that it poorly describes the vast and varied processes it encompasses.

TL;DR - I have a natural interest in technology and the world is woefully technologically uneducated, so I'm going to write some articles to help a bit and indulge in miscellaneous learning along the way.
